Do you prefer when people notice you put effort into your outfits or when they tell you're just lucky because you always appear "good"?

Maybe it depends of the person and maybe that's why my "colleague" doesn't think it's bad to say "you're one of the lucky ones who just wakes up like that", but I'm deeply offended by that type of comment. She says that people like me (I'm tall - ~5'10 - and skinny) have it easier than the others and we don't have to put the same effort into making a outfit look good.

Is that true and I am completely clueless about the reality? Or is it her constant downplaying of my effort (I really enjoy looking pretty and I take great pride on my effort, I spend lots of time buying the "right clothes" and doing my hair and makeup) something that is out of marks?

I'm tired of hearing "you're pretty and have a good body, just accept it you have it best than the others", but I don't want to argue with her about it without having some third impartial party feedback.
